Automatic barrier
Until now, we had always considered that an access control system was not necessary at the entrance to the campsite, preferring to guarantee free movement to our guests.
However, this required us to carry out visual surveillance of "intruders", which was not satisfactory. In view of the increase in inappropriate behaviour, we gradually changed our mind and looked for a solution that would allow us to prohibit the access of foreign vehicles to the campsite without hindering the free movement of our guests.
In the end, we decided on a plate-reading barrier, which was simple for us and perfectly transparent for our guests, as it was when there was no access control.
Step 1: After defining the exact location, a deep enough hole has to be dug ⛏️ as the concrete base will have to be large and heavy to remain immobile despite the thousands of movements the barrier will make every year.
Step 2: the concrete formwork is prepared and the TPCs (Tubes for Cable Protection) also known as sheaths, which will be used for the power and communication cables are laid 🔌.
Step 3: pouring the concrete and once dry, formwork removal the base, our work ends here.
Step 4: the company takes over for the installation of the barrier itself 🧑🔧. The foot (red sheet metal frame), the lyre (small grey support on the other side) and the rail (mobile part of the barrier) must be installed. The camera and all the sensors that guarantee safety must also be added, not forgetting the power supply and communication cables.
Étape 4 : In order to have an optimal functioning, a whole series of adjustments of the barrier and of the software settings are necessary 💻, then we play the guinea pig with different vehicles to test all kinds of scenarios and to check that there is no malfunction or danger for people 📋.
And now it works perfectly!
